Description: Often instructors/therapists struggle with their ability to assess a clients limitations, specifically the core. The core is the center of pilates, but how do you quantify your clients stamina and overall activation of their core strength? It is the key to movement and a weak core can create an undeniable ripple effect in movement patterns. In this 2 hour course, join Kinected studio director Matt McCulloch as he utilizes equipment and hands on palpation to show you how to assess your clients' core strength. Skills covered will additionally assess proprioception as well muscle firing patterns. An additional workout of Testing the Core is included with your purchase!


Instructor:   Matt McCulloch

Matt McCulloch is an educator of fitness and movement professionals and co-founder of Kinected, an integrative Pilates center in New York City. A classically trained dancer, he began studying Pilates 20 years ago as part of his own rehabilitation program from an anterior cruciate ligament injury. He is trained in both original and contemporary approaches and over the past decade, has educated several hundred instructors, creating pragmatic teaching tools for fitness professionals. He is a co-founder of the Functional Anatomy for Movement & Injuries (FAMI) Workshop--an intensive anatomy and injuries program for fitness professionals held at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and co-author of a new series of anatomy apps for the iPad produced in partnership with Primal Pictures. iAdditionally, Matt is a GYROKINESIS® & GYROTONIC® instructor, a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified trainer, and a member of the medical advisory board of TRIARQ, a community of healthcare professionals working together to create new standards in clinical and service excellence through continuing education, research, and cross discipline collaboration
